Founded in 1776, Louis Roederer has remained one of Champagne’s last truly independent, family-owned houses. Frédéric Rouzaud, the seventh generation of the family to lead the maison, upholds a tradition of uncompromising craftsmanship. In 1876, at the request of Tsar Alexander II of Russia, the Cristal house was created, which is today celebrated as one of the most refined and expressive Champagnes in the world. Iconic vintages like 1988, 1989, and 1990 are revered as some of the finest ever released.
Originally an intensely sweet wine, Cristal has evolved into a Champagne of remarkable depth and finesse. Every bottle reflects meticulous attention to detail, from vineyard selection to blending and ageing. Its luminous purity and precision have made it a benchmark of excellence, adored by collectors and connoisseurs alike.
Louis Roederer is as forward-thinking as it is traditional. The maison has embraced sustainable practices to meet the challenges of a changing climate, exemplified by its Collection 242. Crafted by Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, this multi-vintage cuvée is built on a perpetual reserve, emphasising freshness, acidity, and mineral precision. It is a testament to Roederer’s commitment to innovation without compromising finesse.
