Description
French for Santa Rosa, and Santa Rosa Road in particular, this wine is a blend of four of the region’s most iconic vineyards: La Encantada, Domaine de la Cote, Sanford & Benedict and La Rinconada, 2020 is the inaugural edition of this gorgeous wine—aromatics of fresh smashed raspberries, lavender and notes of crushed stone. The palate is a homage to the Burgundian style, emphasising minerality and florals, berry fruits, and savoury garrigue. Red and blue fruits intertwined with clove, thyme and pine tar carry this wine to a savoury, concentrated finish.

Critics reviews
Proprietary name. One-third whole bunch. This blend follows the US model of barrel selection. So this is from the best barrels or rather the ones that go together best. 3,000 bottles produced.
A little more tension than the regular bottling, and really very nice. Ripe but not sweet.
Drink 2023 - 2029
A dark, brooding Pinot, the 2020 Saint Rose offers up copious black cherry, plum, mocha, leather, liquorice and spice. The Saint Rose is essentially a barrel selection from the same sites that inform the appellation wine. I find this a bit heavy and oaky for my taste.

About this wine
Sta. Rita Hills
Sta. Rita Hills is one of California’s most compelling cool-climate regions, celebrated for its Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, which are renowned for remarkable precision and poise. Nestled between the Purisima and Santa Rosa Hills, its east–west valleys funnel ocean breezes and fog inland, creating a long, temperate growing season that shapes wines of freshness, structure and unmistakable character.
