Description

Since my first taste of Tomatin, I have been blown away by the quality of its spirit. Through each iteration, its hallmarks shine through and its character ‘the softer side of the Highlands’ couldn’t be more apt. While most of this whisky’s life is spent in refill bourbon casks, the latter part finishes in 50-year-old Tawny Port casks. Sweet red fruits, toffee apple and honeyed bread dominate the nose. Light milk chocolate, nuts and gently spice red fruit appear on the palate before leaving a slightly woody, clove and liquorice finish. The Port finish is woven gently into this whisky. This is ideal for those calm autumn evenings spent contemplating the day.
