Tesseron Estate vineyard landscape under blue sky, Mount Veeder, Napa Valley.

Tesseron Estate

Tesseron Estate, once Robin Williams's cherished home, is now a beacon of fine winemaking in Napa Valley. Acquired by the Tesseron family in 2016, the estate—known as Villa Sorriso or “Villa of Smiles”—honours Williams’ legacy in a touching way: its wines carry the middle names of his children, PYM and RAE. Today, the estate serves as a tribute to the family and a testament to exceptional craftsmanship.

A legacy rooted in Napa Valley

When choosing to expand their winemaking beyond Bordeaux, the Tesseron family sought not just any vineyard, but one that embodied character, history, and potential. With its generous climate and reputation for world-class wines, Napa Valley offered the perfect foundation.

The Mount Veeder advantage

Rather than settling on the valley floor, the family selected a high-altitude vineyard in Mount Veeder. Here, cooler conditions meet abundant sunshine, allowing grapes to develop balance, freshness, and intensity. The estate’s sedimentary soils, enriched with ancient marine deposits, provide the structure and depth required for remarkable wines. This unique terroir encourages deep root systems and brings natural complexity to every vintage.

Bordeaux varieties with a Californian spirit

Drawing on their experience at Château Pontet-Canet, the Tesserons planted classic Bordeaux varieties. The combination of mature vines and meticulous vineyard care ensures wines of layered complexity, elegance, and lasting character.
