From historic vines in the Rheingau
Eva Fricke’s Eltville Collection are some of Germany’s most exciting wines.
These are time capsules: Riesling as it would have tasted centuries ago. Grown on a historical vineyard with untouched, 19th-century soils, each bottle captures the purity and precision of another age.
You’ll find crystalline clarity and astonishing depth in each of the Eltville wines. “These will keep for decades”, says our Buyer, Catriona Felstead MW – although there’s plenty to enjoy here immediately as well.

Eva Fricke
Eva Fricke has fast gained a reputation as one of Germany’s finest winemakers, thanks to her dry, laser-focused Rieslings.
Her wines are a masterclass in purity and balance, with ripe fruit, flinty minerality and miraculous expression.
Eva is committed to organic and biodynamic methods of farming. She believes not only in the environmental benefits these offer, but also that these methods allow more expression of terroir in her wines.
What makes Eltville special?
In addition to using heritage vines, Eva has worked in collaboration with Geisenheim University to implement an agroforestry project in this historic vineyard. Trees have been planted throughout in an attempt to regenerate and futureproof its soils in the face of climate change.
The soils make this vineyard truly distinctive: among the few in the region that remain in their original state. While most of Germany’s soils were replaced in the government’s Flurbereinigung project of the 1950s, this was one of the sites to remain untouched, meaning it can offer a true snapshot of the original Rheingau Riesling character.
A note from Lizzy Rudd, Chair, Berry Bros. & Rudd
“We are thrilled to partner with Eva to introduce the incredibly special Eltville Collection. Eva is a role model in how she has adapted, nurtured and regenerated this historic land in the Rheingau and a pioneer in her approach to climate change. Her innovation and precision combined with her inherent connection with nature are what have led to these spectacular wines.”
“This wine is so full of energy, and it cuts through the palate. Strata upon strata of chalky-sandstone minerality roll out on the palate in an endless way… so inexplicably fine and pure.”
