Description

This is the second vintage of this wine, which comes from one-half of Picq’s 1.65-hectare holding here (the rest goes into the standard village Chablis). The altitude is quite high, like Vaucoupin, but this has the tangy citrus feel and tight minerality of Vosgros. There is a promising youthful bitterness on the finish. Didier is extending the wine’s élevage this year in recognition of its ageing potential.

Chablis

Chablis lies further north than the rest of Burgundy, located about halfway between Beaune and Paris; it’s actually not all that far from Champagne. The wines here – exclusively whites from Chardonnay – differ in style from other white Burgundies: they tend towards steeliness and flintiness.
