Description
Montagny has become something of a specialism for Olivier Leflaive, providing a good-value step between Bourgogne and the famous names of the Côte d’Or. Vignes Couland is a prime site, located in a hard-to-reach spot at the top of the slope, on a band of blue clay. There is something reminiscent of Chassagne-Montrachet here; it’s floral and perfumed with stone fruit, a chewy, grippy texture and a tangy finish. This is a wine that really punches above its weight.
