Description
A relative newcomer to the range, this comes from half a hectare of young Chardonnay vines planted by Clément on limestone soil in Chambolle-Musigny. It is made in a mix of large oak and amphorae. There’s a pleasing reduction here, along with some ripe citrus and peach fruit. The palate is quite grassy, with a pleasing mid-palate weight and a zippy thread of acidity down the middle. There’s a hint of grilled hazelnut to finish, too.

In the Burgundy hierarchy, “Bourgogne” denotes the entry level of the classification system. This is a so-called “regional” appellation, theoretically covering the entire vineyard area of Burgundy. This is distinct from the more geographically precise village-level, Premier Cru and Grand Cru designations. The two most common Bourgogne-level wines are Bourgogne Blanc (“White Burgundy”) and Bourgogne Rouge (“Red Burgundy”).
