2023 Volnay, Ez Blanches, Domaine Pierre Vincent, Burgundy

This is a parcel that Pierre knows; it is next to that of Domaine de la Vougeraie. His vines are older, planted in 1959. Pierre incorporated 25-30% whole bunches because of the high quality and good level of ripeness. This has added lift and sweet cinnamon spice to the nose, providing a layer of complexity above the crushed red-berry character. It’s a simply beautiful Volnay: smooth and creamy and without any edges. The finish lingers with a floral aftertaste.
