Description

This comes from nine plots around Chassagne, a total of 1.15 hectares. There is a juicy, rich floral character along with fresh pear and peach. The palate has weight and grip but lively acidity that keeps things linear and precise. Simon uses 20% new oak here, and there is some light oak spice and a savoury touch. This is beautifully balanced with a very long finish.

Pale lemon in colour. The bouquet has more complexity than the generics and a touch of gunflint, far from excessive. The fruit broadens out to a fleshy mid palate, a pure white apple fruit, nicely balanced with adequate acidity.
