Description

Aged in 350-litre barrels to ensure a subtler maturation, this has terrific balance and complexity. There are notes of yellow stone fruit, white blossoms and subtle honeysuckle on the nose, while the palate shows off lemon, lime and peach. The vineyard’s soils, mostly limestone with around 30% clay, add plenty of freshness and minerality, aided by the lively acidity. The richness and freshness here are reminiscent of Chassagne-Montrachet.

Mid lemon yellow with a faint green tint. Very refined, this has the classy nose I associate with Beaurepaire in white. Picked before the rest on 4th September. Strikingly elegant without sacrificing structure or density. One of my preferred whites from Santenay.
