Description

This is from a vineyard in the lower part of Volnay, east of the main road. The two parcels, aged 50-60 years old, are planted with the Chardonnay Muscaté clone, which typically gives a floral profile. That is not so much in evidence this year: notes of cut-grass and peach are the order of the day, along with plenty of grip and acidity. This is particularly appealing for its thirst-quenching character.

From below Volnay, two and a bit barrels made. Pale colour with a light green tint, some muscat character too on the nose. And a little bit of almond paste. Some ripeness behind. Unusual.
