Description

This vineyard is in the southern part of Nuits, just below Premier Cru Les Pruliers. Thibault’s vines were planted in 1949. Here, the soil has more clay and silt and with less accessible limestone. This gives the wine broader shoulders and a richer palate. Thus, it is a fairly classical interpretation of Nuits, with dark, earthy and spicy fruit.

A more vibrant ruby colour. Fuller fruit from a slightly more clay rich soil, with 20% whole bunch vinification. The nose is only just starting to emerge, with crisp strawberry note and good tension on the palate.

Nuits-Saint-Georges

One part of the village vineyards forms a strip south of the town of Nuits. More vineyards are on the steeper top slopes, often with a touch of the north in their otherwise eastern exposure. On the other side of Nuits is a wider swathe of village vineyard below the main slope that’s populated by the Premiers Crus, as well as a narrow band at the top of the slope where there is barely any topsoil.
