Description

This is a very warm site; the picking date was critical in 2023, with sugar levels rising and acidity falling quickly. Six days after this was picked, the neighbouring vigneron only had raisins. Nevertheless, the alcohol is held at 13.5%. This is juicy, opulent and heady, with one-third whole-bunch. The palate is surprisingly fine, courtesy of the superb plant material which gives small, concentrated bunches. This is a wine to wallow in.

These days needs picking very early, which it was, on Friday 1st September. A profound deep purple, with a significant depth of fruit as well. Clearly a good decision to have picked this early as it is fully ripe without being compromised. A little alpine strawberry, with balanced tannins and good length. One third whole bunches.
