Description

Ben has bought the fruit from the same source in this vineyard for many years. He got the opportunity to buy the plot in 2021 when the vigneron wanted to retire. This is always very open and approachable, though it is especially perfumed this year. There is a good level of grip from a tiny element of attractive bitterness that the terroir always seems to provide.

Jasper Morris MW 89-91/100

Early malolactic and low acidity meant that it was better to bottle early as well. Mid ruby in colour with an immediate light but pretty floral style on the nose, a pattern which continues in the mouth. Well-judged oak, an attractive Beaune for reasonably early drinking too.
