Description

Clos Micot is one of just two Pommard Premiers Crus below the D973 road. The domaine has 0.25 hectares here, with vines around 55 years old. This has a more overtly spicy nose than some of the wines here, showing some cinnamon and cocoa alongside intense black cherries. It is full in the mouth but not lacking finesse at all. A floral lift at the end lends the wine a real sense of energy, and the there is a nice stony feel at the end.

Dense purple with a very youthful red fruit, a bit more gas on the palate, a very intense youthful raspberry essence, enough acidity to accompany the tannins, but especially the fruit concentration. Very long indeed. Monolithic at the moment, but impressive.
