Description

En Boucheran sits between the Premiers Crus of Montmains and Vaillons. A band of deep clay runs through it, atop yellow marl. The nose is more mineral than in some years, with a tighter focus and lemony fruit. The palate is rounded and spicy, with some creamy notes that taper nicely into a cleansing finish. This should drink well from an early stage.

Chablis lies further north than the rest of Burgundy, located about halfway between Beaune and Paris; it’s actually not all that far from Champagne. The wines here – exclusively whites from Chardonnay – differ in style from other white Burgundies: they tend towards steeliness and flintiness.
