Description

Caroline has 0.61 hectares in this village-level vineyard below Les Champs Gain. Her vines are 55-60 years old and the site is ploughed by horse. The wine is made mostly in barrel (with around 25% new oak) with about 30% of it made in tank. This is a fresh, mineral and lively Chassagne with a nice purity of fruit. There is some grip and texture in the mouth, though it feels restrained and not overdone. There is a long finish.

Still in barrel. The colour is a full lemon yellow, with a pleasing ripeness to the nose, embellished by the oak. This will integrate once the wine is prepared for bottling. Perhaps the deepest weight of the three, and longest finish. Striking youthful energy.
