Description

The complex soils here are a mixture of yellow granite (also found in Fleurie) and pink and blue granite washed down from slopes around the vineyard. The vines are old, planted in 1938, 1952 and 1965. The site faces south but is actually less exposed to the wind. The vintage has a riper sheen than usual but still ends with the distinctive granite bite. The fruit notes are of blueberry and rose.

Full crimson purple from this complex, diverse soil. Some of the ripe fruit and peachy notes, but also with underlying minerals. Plenty going on and will benefit from longer ageing.
