Description

This comes from two vineyards on the Puligny side of Chassagne: Les Houillières and Champ Derrière. It is floral and delicate, with fresh notes of apple and pear, lemon and lime and mineral spice. The palate has a lightly creamy texture with bright acidity, making this very refreshing and really quite an elegant expression of Chassagne.

Pale in colour, apples, white stone fruit and a little salinity. Then becomes more perfumed with time in the glass. A clean and fine white fruit across the palate, still with a little sunny honeysuckle at the edges but not disturbing the core.

Within a few hundred metres lie five wonderful Grands Crus, three of which are in Chassagne. They are led by the luscious Le Montrachet, to which Chassagne gained permission in 1879, along with Puligny, to hyphenate its name.
