Description

This is one of De Montille’s iconic cuvées. The vines are now over 80 years old. With 75% whole bunches, this has pronounced aromatics of violets, spice and intense red fruit. There is firm structure though the tannins are very fine and just fall away. This is a very complex expression, with deep red fruits, chalky minerality and layers of attractive fruit and floral character. It is an impressive showing this year.

100% whole cluster but shaped very differently. This is a much richer wine and the fruit swamps the stems. Generous cherry and raspberry, effortless balance, a beautiful bottle of Volnay in the making. The flavours come back in waves.
