Description

Les Pézerolles sits near the Beaune border; De Montille has 1.35 hectares here. Brian kept one-third whole bunches; a higher proportion from this vineyard would give an overly herbaceous character, he says. Instead, this is mineral and gently herbal. The tannins are present, but they’re fine and supple, not at all rustic. The wine is bright and refreshing. It sees one-third new oak.

Jasper Morris MW 90-93/100
A bright and quite deep purple colour. The bouquet shows black raspberry. The oak shows a little bit more here, though less is used. The fruit is very vigorous at the front of the palate, drier tannins behind. This will take time.
