Description
Since 2021, this blend of domaine fruit in Nuits and purchased fruit in Chambolle has been supplemented by fruit from Arcenon in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. It’s a neat move, as the latter’s freshness adds an extra layer of energy to what was already an accomplished Bourgogne. Thibault’s extraction has been gentle. The fruit is very pure, with the Nuits element adding some chunky muscle.

Critics reviews
This is also ripe and earthy though the fruit derives more from the red side of the spectrum. The mouthfeel of the medium weight flavors is slightly sleeker if not quite as dense while offering reasonably good depth and persistent on the lightly austere finale. This is also very good for its level.
Drink 2026
A substantial cuvee from vines below Nuits and Chambolle, along with Hautes Côtes de Nuits in Arcenant. 20% whole bunch vinification. Mid pink purple. The nose is not yet expressive but the fruit on the palate is a delight. Not too ripe, but with generosity on the palate, good acidity, a range of fruit from redcurrant through cherry to raspberry, and persistent. Very promising.
Drink 2026 - 2028
This classic wine is consistently one of the top values in affordable Burgundy, with an expressive cherry aroma and hints of violets and liquorice. The texture is firm and tannic, with an elegant, sophisticated feel to it. The grapes are from a hectare of domaine-owned vines in Chambolle and Nuits outside the village appellations). They are partially destemmed and gently fermented before ageing in cask, 25% new. This will be ready to drink on release and then over the next several years.

About this wine
Bourgogne
In the Burgundy hierarchy, “Bourgogne” denotes the entry level of the classification system. This is a so-called “regional” appellation, theoretically covering the entire vineyard area of Burgundy. This is distinct from the more geographically precise village-level, Premier Cru and Grand Cru designations. The two most common Bourgogne-level wines are Bourgogne Blanc (“White Burgundy”) and Bourgogne Rouge (“Red Burgundy”).
