Description

From 70+-year-old vines, this cuvée comes from a selection of older vines within Les Quartz, with unique subsoils resulting in millerandée - where the grapes' natural fertilisation stops due to age, and they shrivel into tiny berries with concentrated sugars. A nose of white stone fruit, brioche and minerality leading to yellow plums on the palate with a marzipan note. Already expressive in its youth.

Allen Meadows 91-93/100

A broad-ranging nose is comprised by strongly inflected petrol and citrus notes of mentholated tea, white and yellow peach and a whisper of passion fruit. The succulent and generous flavors possess excellent mid-palate density as well as a lovely underlying tension on the stony and very dry finale. This impressive effort is also tightly wound and in need of at least a few years of patience. It too is warmly recommended.
