Description

The village Volnay comes from two parcels: some younger vines from Les Famines and a proportion of older vines from Grand Champs. As ever, these early ripening sites were the first to be picked. Paul used 30% whole bunches and 50% new oak. It’s a little backward for now, with some blood orange notes and fine, cocoa-like tannins that coat the tongue. This will need time.

From Grands Champs and Les Famines. Dark centre to the colour and some firm structure in this Volnay. Full plum fruit, with good energy and a sense of calm completeness to finish.
