Description

The domaine has 0.59 hectares here in this former quarry at the northern edge of Chassagne. There is a pronounced citrus character on the nose, like grapefruits and lime cordial. The palate has grip and body, but there is a hugely energetic, almost fizzing, acidity throughout. This is complex, long and feels almost electrified. There is a lot going on here, and this will be a beautiful wine.

Just fined, ready to bottle. Older degenerating vines on the slope make for a concentrated wine. Fine mid lemon and lime colour, with a useful youthful astringency. Plenty of energy for the future, currently less immediately exciting than the Chenevottes though Caroline expects the Chaumées to grow to at least the same level.
