Description

The domaine’s flagship wine, this is well situated, beneath the Chapelot Premier Cru. The soil in this lower part has more clay and limestone. Edouard aged some of this in tank this year, as he couldn’t source enough used barrels. He is happy with the result, which has perhaps a little more tension. This is a very complete wine with both tension and breadth.

Chablis

Chablis lies further north than the rest of Burgundy, located about halfway between Beaune and Paris; it’s actually not all that far from Champagne. The wines here – exclusively whites from Chardonnay – differ in style from other white Burgundies: they tend towards steeliness and flintiness.
