Description

These 50-year-old vines suffer from court-noué, giving small and concentrated grapes and restricting the yield. The lower part of the vineyard was struggling with this, so it has been grubbed up for replanting after the 2022 harvest. Now from just the upper sector of the vineyard, this is a dry, tensile wine with plenty of grip and mineral rigour.

Jasper Morris MW 90-91/100
Not yet in bottle. A mix of young and old vines. A touch more colour and rather fuller on the nose. A lactic note takes it away from the classic white fruit style of Léchet. An interesting thickness of texture. Some salinity to finish. I suspect the stage it is at, on its finings, makes the Côte de Léchet more difficult to read.
