Description

Laurent’s largest cuvée, this comes from a variety of lieux-dits comprising about three hectares. It includes young vines from his best sites, including Longeroies, Es Chezots and Chapître. The majority is in 500- and 600-litre barrels, and there is one-third whole-bunch this year. The accessibility of the vintage suits the house style very well. This is easy and juicy, with bright, well-framed fruit and attractive, rounded tannins.

Racked to tank. One third whole bunch vinification, aged in 500 litre demi-muid with very little new wood. Deep crimson purple, with a light reduction. This is tight and a little tough at the moment, more the savoury side of berry fruit at the moment.

Marsannay is the northernmost village and the only appellation in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy, France, producing red and white wines. It is renowned for its red wines, primarily made from Pinot Noir grapes, but also creates a limited quantity of white wines from Chardonnay. Marsannay's terroir, characterised by limestone and clay soils, imparts a unique mineral complexity to its wines.
