Description

Made from 100% Pinot Noir, Sancerre is one of the more serious expressions of rosé. Simon Chotard makes this as he does his white wines—with gentle pressing and short skin contact for a pale colour, freshness, and elegance. Even so, the warm 2023 vintage has given plenty of ripe strawberry fruit, making it the ideal food wine and a perfect partner to spicy prawns or a mild curry. Alternatively, chill it further to enjoy on its own as an apéritif. Moreover, the bottle is capsule-free, which helps reduce packaging waste.

Sancerre

Sancerre is a famous white Sauvignon Blanc appellation located on the left bank of the Loire. Its 14 communes are widely dispersed, covering nearly 3,000 hectares over vertiginous valleys at up to 350 metres above sea level, and three distinct soil types. As with nearby Pouilly-Fumé, an increasing number of single-vineyard wines are being raised in French oak, mostly 500-litre and demi-muids.
