Description

Le Peu Morier is a very distinct terroir, setting the wine out from its peers in the range. There’s between one to two metres of clay and flint topsoil over a firm limestone bedrock. The result is a powerful and weighty wine, with spicy density and some exotic fruit, underpinned by a bed of chalk. The old vines give an intense, concentrated feel, as well as a balancing energy. Expect this to develop notes of white truffle and wet wool as it ages, with layers of complexity building with time.

About this wine

Vouvray

Based in the Touraine district of the Loire, the 2,000-hectare Vouvray appellation covers a range of dry, through off-dry, sweet to sparkling styles. Its Chenin Blanc vineyards give the wines vibrant acidity and a stony, floral and at times waxy character. Under perfect skies, the producers aim for moelleux sweet wines, hand-harvested by trie, often imbued with noble rot and rich with residual sugar.
