Description
Eva Fricke may not have a long history but to judge from the precision and consistency of her dry German Rieslings, that is no bad thing
Jancis Robinson MW, Financial Times (December 2024)
The majority (80%) of the grapes in this gorgeous Riesling are sourced from Eva’s well-tended vineyards in Eltville, Lorch and Hattenheim. The balance comes from the younger vines in Lorch. This has a lovely nose of fresh, green apples, white peach and white flowers. It is beautifully pure with a pebble stone lift.
The palate is mouth-wateringly crisp and fresh, full of green apple skin with a hint of green melon lingering behind. All is drawn in seamlessly by that stoney purity. This wine is refreshing and vibrant with a lovely, supple texture in this vintage. It is rounded and delicious, not angular at all. A pure mineral note of riverbed stones lingers on the long, thirst-quenching finish.

Critics reviews
12% stated alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Tasted at the domaine.
The 2023 Rheingau is clear, pure, fresh and finely flinty on the nose, although only a small part of the assemblage is based on Lorch fruit, whereas the rest comes from the central Rheingau. Intense, dense and saline on the palate, this is a full-bodied, crystalline and persistently saline Riesling that is analytically dry but pretty rich and, luckily, also vital due to its complexity and drive on the long, mineral finish. This is a stunning Rheingau estate wine.

Screw cap
What a complex wine for an entry-level dry riesling. A wealth of fresh herbs, stone fruit and delicate citrus aromas. It has a striking stony minerality and a wonderful vibrancy from the spritz of natural carbon dioxide on the barely medium-bodied palate. For this category, there’s astonishing length and purity. From organically grown grapes. Vegan.

About this wine
Rheingau
The Rheingau is Germany’s spiritual home of Riesling – a small but illustrious region where steep, sunlit slopes meet the cooling waters of the Rhine. Tradition and terroir combine to produce wines of remarkable purity, elegance, and depth. With its legendary estates and centuries-old reputation, the Rheingau continues to define what great Riesling can be: aromatic, mineral, and endlessly age-worthy.
