Description

A really fine example, from vineyards across Sinio, Monforte d’Alba (from Castelletto) and Castiglione Falletto (Il Pozzo), matured 50/50 in barrique (10% new) and cement for 12 months. It was a warm and dry year during which growth and ripeness was slow to be achieved, but eventually yielding fruit with great concentration. This has a real sense of push and drive, with the tannins appearing as quartzy and sandy. The palate is tightly wound, with impressive intensity.
