Description

Located on the Santenay side of Chassagne, this vineyard sits beneath La Romanée. Caroline has 0.32 hectares of vines here, certified organic since 2014. The lower part of the vineyard has red, iron-rich soil, with whiter soils as you go further up the slope. This is a little closed currently but has concentrated, pure fruit character peeking through. It is creamy, powerful and graceful on the palate, with a signature note of orange and a long finish.

Sample taken from barrel and tank. Full primrose. More backward on the nose, full of white fruit energy on the palate, and a slight peppery touch. Quite concentrated, possible one of the higher alcohols, beefy at the finish, yet still with good acidity.
