Description

This is one of David’s finest vineyards, planted on very shallow topsoil and hard limestone, yielding mineral, floral wines. David used only 10-15% whole-bunch; he feels the vineyard gives the wine a naturally floral character already. This was aged in 20% new oak. It is stylistically the bigger sibling of Les Hâtes, with grippier tannins, a fine mineral edge and a delightful mix of concentrated hedgerow fruit. There’s so much tension and finesse, and a satisfying, chalky finish.

Glowing purple. Some density to the fruit, though less floral or immediately juicy than some. The fruit is more in length than density, a little blood orange in the mix, more complex structure. Fair length.
