Description

The vineyard faces north at the top of the hill, close to the windmill, on pink granite. Most vines are nearly 100 years old. The cooler environment means a crisper style. Thibault only felt the need for 40% whole-bunch, although there is also plenty of plush fruit here. This is a wine of texture and finesse. It is complex and rewarding, hence Thibault’s assertion that this is his “Premier Cru” in Moulin-à-Vent.

Jasper Morris MW 90-92/100
On the same very light soil as La Rochelle but east facing. Cooled by the north wind here. 30% whole bunches only, as the wine is already fresher. There is much more detail in the wine, all red fruit, none of the peachy overtones, with a fine long finish with some pepper and a crunchier red fruit.
