Description

The Droin family have 2.15 hectares here, in what is perhaps the most serious and “Burgundian” of the left-bank Premiers Crus. The clay soil gives a wine of great breadth and depth, supported by the use of around 40% oak for fermentation. It is a demonstrative and somewhat earthy wine, while still retaining the iodine and oyster shell notes and chiselled finish one looks for in Chablis.
