Description

This blows my expectations out of the water. With the expected concentrated blue fruit there is sublime deep complexity. Eucalyptus wafts through the wine, with sweet spice, liquorice root, and a quiet earthiness. Glorious structure, with plenty of acidity and gentle tannins. This is very serious wine that will age beautifully but I am desperate to enjoy it now.

The more savory 2022 Shiraz Ebenezer SR802 offers a fascinating mix of baked earth and terracotta, with a base of dark cherry and a strong oak lining. It's open-knit, with blackberry, black licorice and clove flavors initially plush before drying tannins firm up the finish.

Deep red-purple colour leads into a bright berry and mint bouquet, fruit driven, with earthy ferrous northern Barossa character tucked into the background, the berry fruit leading the way. Full bodied, with softly drying tannins and lovely balance. A more elegant iteration of northern Barossa shiraz.
