Description

The 2022 Santa Barbara County Syrah is deep purple in hue with a gloriously lifted, granitic nose. The aromas are so fresh, with ripe red and black fruit mingling with a top note of violets. The palate is gorgeous, with an almost orange-zest freshness behind the sweet fruit and elegant touches of sweet spice. This is a sophisticated yet supple style of Syrah with fine, grainy tannins and a smooth-fruited texture which leads imperceptibly to a fresh blackberry and red cherry-sweet finish.

The 2022 Syrah Santa Barbara County) is a powerhouse. Inky dark fruit, new leather, licorice, dried herbs, chocolate and leather are all dialed up in this huge, opulent Syrah. There's not much subtlety here, that is for sure. I would give this a year or two to shed some baby fat.

It's dangerously easy to drink without sacrificing nuance or complexity. 3,000 cases were produced.
