Description

This is made with purchased grapes from a steep vineyard with old vines. Slight reduction on the nose soon gives way to perfumed aromas. With apricot and oranges on the palate, there is high acidity and a very long finish. This has the makings of a superb wine; it will be greater than the sum of its parts.

Fresh, bright and airy aromas are comprised by notes of green apple, mineral reduction and a plenitude of citrus elements. I very much like the sense of underlying tension to the lightly stony flavors that display a bitter zest-inflected finish that is refreshingly dry. Solid quality here.

In bottle. Pale lemon colour. Not much nose has developed yet. There is a fine concentrated weight of orchard fruit with a waxy note, good acidity, all in place. It's a very nice example with a particularly good ripe apple aftertaste.
