Description
Beaurepaire’s limestone soil is perfectly suited to making mineral Chardonnays, while the south-facing exposition gives pleasing fruit ripeness. Fifteen percent new oak gives a spicy, struck-match character alongside the citrus fruit. This is near Chassagne-Montrachet both geographically and in style; it is definitely worth consideration given its relative affordability.

More lemon yellow to the colour, with a delicious bouquet, plenty of flesh but above all a lovely fruit, in the fresh plum direction. Fresh at the finish, excellent acidity alongside the oak. An exceptional finish which extends particularly well.

The 2022 Santenay Blanc Beaurepaire 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet with Conference pear and touches of flint in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with Golden Delicious, pear and a hint of ginger. This takes time to unfold, gaining more elegance and depth towards the finish. Very pretty.
