Description

Beaurepaire always produces a mineral, tense wine with high acidity. David Moreau observes that this is due to the steeply sloping, south-facing vineyard with white limestone soil. On the 2022 Santenay Rouge, the attack has creamy, ripe fruit, but the finish is intensely mineral, with a mouthwatering freshness and floral lift.

Good dense purple in colour, with richer fruit on the nose. 25% whole bunch vinification. Darker fruit, raspberry and dark cherry, a touch of liquorice, some firmer tannins. More backward, will need longer to smooth out.
