Description

The 2022 Chablis, Vaulorent, 1er Cru, by Le Domaine d'Henri, is new this year. It was produced from 0.4 hectares of old vines, and just 1,500 bottles were filled. It was aged in a mix of stoneware jars and foudre. Michel considers it distinguished, a wine with intelligence. It is certainly quite cerebral, with a stinging acidity and firm, dry grip.

Lots of virus in this vineyard, so a very small crop, one amphora and one demi muid. Slightly anonymous on the nose, it must be said. There is good volume in the mouth and a strong saline acidity, but does not deliver the extra one would hope for from Vaulorent.
