Description

The alluvial fan from the Grande Combe reaches here, and the land was once classified as Pommard. This has a bright ruby colour, a complex nose of red fruits, spices and vanilla and a rounded palate. The tannins are silky and the finish is long. This wine is elegant, balanced and expressive.

1 ha 2.5 acres) opposite the Château de Pommard across the RN74. 50% vines from 2009, 50% replanted 2019 with mass-selected vines from ATVB. Pebbly and well-drained clay. 10% destemmed.

Mid ruby. Bright and clear hue. Red-berry fruits, redcurrant and strawberry, nuanced with a touch of bramble. Very fresh, with slightly astringent tannins.

In bottle. Young vines in a stony draining soil below the chateau de Pommard. Mid-ruby colour. An attractive floral and fruit-forward bouquet. Cherries, too, especially on the palate. Delicious, attractive, uncomplicated Bourgogne pinot.
