Here too reduction flattens the fruit though there is a highly seductive texture to the plush, round and suave medium-bodied flavors that possess better volume on the lingering and well-balanced finale.

Drink from 2028 onward

The Millot Echezeaux is predominantly from Echezeaux du Dessus 1949 and 1980 plantings), along with Les Poulaillères and Clos St-Denis. It is a lovely red-crimson colour. It is florally detailed, plus a little oak as well. The 20% whole bunch just adds a little touch of liveliness. The oak will need to quieten down, which it will. The 2022 Jean-Marc Millot is particularly persistent and, yet again, a really fine grain of tannins.

Meaty note on the nose. Dark-cherry fruit, some plum character coming through. Structured. Needs time. Tannins are rather drying. Has a plushness on the palate which will develop and soften with a few years in bottle. Powerful but also quite restrained and has elegance underpinning the power.
