Description
Rugiens is Pommard’s best vineyard south of the village with the lower section thought to be preferred. Ben has vines at the lowest point of the top section. Four barrels were produced with half in a new 450-litre barrel, previously used for white wine fermentation. Fifty percent was whole bunch and this is tightly-woven with lifted energy on the finish.

Four barrels made, mostly as whole bunches. Not too deep in colour, fresh red fruit, alpine strawberry, then a firmer band of deeper red fruit behind, the tannins are ripe and nicely covered by the fruit, with good acidity behind.
