Description

Arnaud’s 0.2 hectares lie to the very north of the vineyard, near Griotte-Chambertin. This vintage is not as huge as the wine can sometimes be. There is wonderful freshness and underlying minerality and tension throughout, thanks to the chalky soils in this part of the vineyard. There is 50% whole-bunch and 50% new oak.

Charmes-Chambertin

Charmes-Chambertin is one of the most famous Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy, and is also the name of the associated AOC of the wines produced from it. Pinot Noir is by far and away the primary grape grown in Charmes, although as with other Burgundy AOC regulations the wines are permitted up to 15 percent Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc or Pinot Gris as auxiliary grapes.
