Description

The Mon Village is an ode to the Côte-Rôtie – a blend of parcels across Stéphane’s landowning. Blackcurrants, plums and vanilla lift from the glass. The tannins are fine but not showy and the finish is long, with flavours of iodine and red fruits lingering. Polished but not without personality, this is a masterclass in Syrah.

Cask samples tasted at the domaine.

Sample 1: A blend of sites.
Attractive and appealing nose that has some juiciness and ripe red and dark fruit notes. Lovely delicate mouthfeel with fine tannins. Delicious and juicy yet also has a firm backbone and spice.

Sample 2: Leyat.
Rich and ferruginous. And some oak influence – tannins are vertical and intense here. Iron filings and spice beneath.
