Description
This is from the lieux-dits Grands Clos and Clos Chareau. Both offer either a limestone or clay-dominant soil composition. On the nose are intense aromas of ripe red cherry and berry fruit. The palate is zippy and playful, with a delightful crunchiness to the red fruit. There is a lovely, saline finish. Red Chassagne-Montrachet is a rarer breed than white, which is quite simply superb.

Critics reviews
From Clos Chareau and Grand Clos.
While aromatically similar to the Chassagne villages, this wine has markedly better mid-palate concentration and powerful, bigger-bodied flavours that possess a caressing mid-palate texture. All this is wrapped in a firm, moderately rustic, and sneaky long finish. This wine should also be approachable after 4 to 5 years, yet it has no trouble repaying a decade, or even a bit more, of bottle ageing.

In bottle. Fine mid purple. There is a bright dynamic fruit here, plums, raspberry, ripe cherry, something of everything, with just the right tannins behind. A really delicious aftertaste. Beautifully made.
