Description

Aligoté from careful growers today is a far cry from the sometimes-acerbic wines of old; they are very much more rounded and affable now. This has a core of white fruits and a dash of sunshine that makes it very appetising.

A very aligoté-like nose features notes of green apple, spice, citrus and a floral hint. There is both excellent volume and richness in the context of what is typical for the genre, as well as the delicious middle-weight flavours that exude evident minerality on the lemony, clean, and very dry finale that is moderately rustic. Bottled early August.

Pale lemon yellow. It has a very pretty nose—the classic Aligoté of Pernand, fresh and with an apple note. It is quite powerful with a nutty almond character. There is just a little bit of heat at the back, which will settle down. It is all in the tank, but now that it is riper, it could maybe use some older oak.
